So, winter is nearly over, and spring is already on its way. After all, seeing daffodils in the florists is a sure sign that the bad weather is nearly over. With that in mind, it’s almost time for the annual spring clean. There is so much to do and so much to organize! It can seem like a never ending task. But, the spring clean is a refreshing way to declutter and organize your home space.

It’s time to look at your spring cleaning strategy so you can reclaim your beautiful home.

How to Plan a Spring Cleaning Strategy

Start Planning

When it comes to spring cleaning, it’s always best to start by getting organized yourself. Think about what needs to be done, how you can undertake those tasks at hand, and what needs sorting. Grab a pen and paper and start making a list of the important tasks that you need to do.  It may be sorting out the attic or basement. Maybe it’s thoroughly scrubbing your house top to bottom. Whatever you want to do, make sure that you organize your cleaning in a strategic way. You don’t have to do it all in one day. Chunk your cleaning tasks and separate them by room. That way, you don’t have to feel overwhelmed with the spring cleaning chores.

De-Clutter

Take a look at your home. Are there certain things in it you don’t want? If so, get rid of  them. Old cushions, broken ornaments and mismatching picture frames can all be thrown out or donated to a local charity shop. De-cluttering is the key to your spring cleaning endeavours. So, start on each room and start throwing things out that you no longer need or want.

Allow a Specific Day

Good spring cleaning requires organisation. So, make sure that you set aside for a full day of cleaning. This can be carried out throughout the month, so don’t feel that you need to do everything in one go.

Having the Right Tools in Place

Now is the time to stock up on necessities. Cleaning products are a must. But, you may need to purchase some new equipment too, like a Dyson DC65 and a new steam mop.  Even things like new dusters and cloths are important during the big clean. Having an inventory of the supplies that you need is imperative. That way, you can make sure that your whole home is looking good.

What Are Your Goals?

As silly as it may sound, having a list of goals is important. What do you want to achieve from your clean home? Do you want to freshen up the bedding or get down into the nooks and crannies of the skirting boards? Or, do you want to create more space? Think about what you want and make sure that you are cleaning according to your goals. Tick them all off the list and feel a sense of achievement when they are all done!
