Watermelon Margarita Recipe

It’s my friend Cyndie’s birthday this weekend. There are few things she enjoys more than a good cocktail. Of course, since she’s a good Georgia girl, she loves watermelon. This Watermelon Margarita recipe is perfect for cooling down on not just Memorial Day Weekend, but all summer long. Plus the Watermelon Margarita recipe makes enough for four servings. You can make up a batch ahead of time and just pour over ice when you’re ready to serve.

Watermelon Margarita (700 x 467)

 Watermelon Margarita

  •  4 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
  • 2 parts JDK & Sons(tm) O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, chilled and cut into pieces
  • ½ cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup ice

Freeze cubed watermelon in a plastic bag for a minimum of 2 hours. Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Serve in glasses rimmed with salt and garnish with a lime or watermelon wedge. Salud!

**Serves 4

Sparkling Watermelon (600 x 800)

Not in the mood to have to mix up a batch of watermelon margaritas, but still want to enjoy the flavor? No problem! With Sauza’s new Watermelon Sparkling Margarita, you can have a watermelon margarita without the hassle.

It’s all in the presentation

Wow your friends by creating a fun watermelon punch bowl to serve your delicious margarita. Using a sharp knife, carefully trim the bottom of a seedless watermelon to make it a flat surface. Next, cut off the top (about ¼ of the watermelon) and hollow out the flesh with a melon baller. Use an ice cream scoop or large spoon to scrape the inside walls of the watermelon clean. Fill with your favorite margarita recipe, or Sparkling Margarita, and enjoy!

 Watermelon Ice, ice baby

Looking to chill your drink without watering it down? Our fave summertime fruit proves it is as functional as it is tasty with this simple recipe for watermelon ice cubes.

Cut a seedless watermelon into chunks roughly the size of ice cubes. Place in a single layer on a baking pan. Wrap the tray in plastic wrap and freeze overnight or for several hours until cubes are completely frozen. Pop a cube or two to add flavor and colorful fun to your favorite margarita.

Celebrate Summer with the unofficial fruit – watermelon!  Will you be adding any of these entertaining ideas into your summer plans?

When’s the party? I’m not usually a margarita fan, but these sound delicious! Not to mention the idea of the watermelon presentation! Great ideas! Happy Memorial Day!
