Disclosure: How to Wear Statement Necklaces is part of an advertorial.
Statement necklaces have become so popular in the past year or so. One of the questions I hear most often is – “How do I wear a Statement Necklace?”
It’s really not that hard! A lot of it depends on the style of the necklace. For a necklace like this one, which is loaded with fabric rosettes in various colors, I would pair it with a solid colored top.
I would wear this with a white or black tee or tank, denim capris, and sandals. For a slightly dressier look, I might switch out some black or khaki pants and a wedge or a heel.
One of these statement necklaces that has a lot of stones may be a bit more challenging. Wearing a rhinestone, or even a faux gemstone statement necklace with an open neck top is the best bet. Try a V-Neck or scoop neck top. You can wear a pattern, but it needs to be subtle. Something like a small allover print or a subtle or small stripe are perfect.
Of course, there’s also the large bib-type statement necklaces. Because these necklacs are usually big and bold, they’re a little more forgiving with what you can wear them with. Bolder prints. Wide Stripes. Crewneck or close to the neck necklines. I’ve even seen some celebrities wear these bib type statement necklaces with sweatshirts! Designer sweatshirts, but sweatshirts nonetheless.
The Get Cut Out statement necklace from Majestical Jewelry is a great example of the bib necklace that’s so versatile. A nice weight goldtone metal that has quite a bit of interest with the cut out patterns. I was a bit concerned that the Get Cut Out necklace would be heavy to wear, but it wasn’t. With the 18 inch chain length, it’s perfectly weighted. I’ve been wearing this statement necklace with a lightweight cotton sweater and jeans lately.
