I am making another go with getting fit. I have said this for a while now, but this time, I’m going to do it. For reals.
I really don’t know why it’s taking me sooo ling to get back into it. I can use the excuse that it’s been cold outside, which it has. Or I can use the excuse that I was pretty sick for a while, which I was. Well, that’s actually a really good excuse, now, isn’t it? But the real thing is, I’ve just been a slacker.
Now, my friend always says “Slacker wins again!” whenever she hasn’t gotten around to doing something, and it changes. In this case, though, slacking is not winning. It’s being a non losing loser.
So what’s my plan of attack?
Eating better. Being a vegetarian, you’d think this would already be somewhat easy. It’s extremely difficult to find anywhere to go in our area that has decent vegetarian meals. So we eat a lot of chalupas when we don’t feel like cooking or going to the store. Made with beans instead of beef, that is.
Keeping a food journal. A couple years ago, I lost about 40 or so lbs. I did this by keeping a food journal, and walking every day. That’s it! I mean, I made a few dietary changes, like not having nachos for lunch most days, but I didn’t deprive myself. I still went and had cupcakes, soda, and frou frou coffee drinks.
Walking. There are a couple paths in my neighborhood. One is ¾ mile, one is a mile, one is about 1 1/3 miles. They’re quick, easy, and I don’t even have to go anywhere. The only thing I have to do is get dressed. I think I can manage that. Besides, I enjoy walking. It gives me a chance to get some fresh air and clear my head.
Adding some other routines in. I’ll probably do some other exercises as well, but I don’t know yet.
Using FitClick. I really like the layout of FitClick. It’s free, easy to navigate, and it keeps track of what you’re eating, your exercise, and how many calories you’re burning. You can also add your measurements in to keep track of how many inches you’re losing. My id is GretasDay, if you wanna friend me or connect with me there. Blogging it. Yep. You’ll be coming along with me on my fantastic voyage. I’m going to aim for an update every Tuesday. I know, I said this before. But I mean it this time! Maybe. I have a new support group of some extra cool bloggers, and they’ll bust on me if I don’t. Ha!
