Hi. My name is Greta and I like to wear leggings. It’s true! And for some reason, people think that should be a shameful thing.
Let me clarify. I don’t wear leggings every day. I don’t believe leggings are a replacement for jeans or trousers. I do think it’s perfectly fine to wear leggings with a short dress or a long tunic top. And by long, I mean it has to come past your hips. No one wants to see that!
And if you’re wearing a longer dress? Tights are the option to choose. I consider longer to be knee length or longer. This looks super cute with boots, booties, and even pumps.
No Nonsense sent me a pair of their new corduroy leggings in Aubergine purple and a pair of Silky Opaque Tights in Black.
Now, now. I know what you’re thinking. “No nonsense? Seriously? They’re, uh, kinda stodgy, no?“ NO! They’re not anymore. I mean, yeah, No nonsense totally needed a modernization of their brand. Enter Jill Martin. She’s an award winning TV host and co-author of the book “I Have Nothing to Wear.” Well, she’s come aboard to help No nonsense become modernized, as well as teach us how to wear No nonsense tights and leggings without looking like fools.
Anyway, back to the Corduroy leggings. These aren’t your typical leggings. They’re thick and have a plush, almost velour or velveteen feel to them. They’re super warm, too. And they have ridges, just like wide-wale corduroy. I like ‘em!
The Silky Opaque Tights are also thick and heavy. I didn’t feel like I was going to stick my finger through them when I was putting them on. I didn’t think that they were constricting, either, unlike some other types of tights.
My personal style is very eclectic. It’s like Boho chic mixed with Preppy. One day you’ll see me in a wool pea coat, slacks, and boots, while the next I’m wearing a flowy top that’s vivid colors and lots of jewelry with ballet flats.
These are two outfits that I’d totally wear!
