I recently had my first burger in over a year. Well, I should explain a little first. I stopped eating meat about a year and a half ago. Well, this time. I’ve gone back and forth with being vegetarian or being carnivore (yes, eating only meat!) my whole life. One of the things that I’ve really missed is really good, messy, juicy burgers.
While snooping around the internet, I discovered that Chili’s has a black bean burger patty. How did I not know this? Why didn’t anyone tell me? I filed that little nugget of information away for use at a later date.
It wasn’t long before I had the chance to try them out. I was out shopping with my mom, and we stopped in to Chili’s to have lunch. I already knew what I was gonna have – a burger! Now, to decide which one.
I finally settled on a Shiner Bock BBQ burger. A great sweet & tangy BBQ sauce, crispy onions, and cheddar cheese? Yes please! My mom had a Mushroom Swiss burger, which has mushrooms and Swiss cheese.
So the real question is how was the burger? It was glorious! It was a big fluffy bun, sloppy, messy sauce, good flavors that complimented each other. And the black bean patty had a really nice texture and flavor.
If it wasn’t the middle of the day, I might have added a CoronaRita. What’s a CoronaRita you ask? It’s a margarita made with Corona beer. Intriguing, to say the least! I like margaritas, beer goes well with burgers. I think it would be great with Chili’s burgers. And, like I said, if it hadn’t been 11:30 on a Saturday morning, there’s a good chance I would have ordered one. I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new things, though.
Are you a fan of Chili’s? Are you gonna try the CoronaRita at Chili's? Let me know in the comments.
