Have you ever seen a Robby Wash Ball? It’s a strange little gadget that kind of looks like a giant wiffle ball and is filled with what looks like tiny little smooth pebbles. And you use it in your laundry, instead of soap.
I had seen this in stores a couple years back, and thought it was the oddest thing in the world. How would it work? There were no detergents. No surfactants. I’m so confused!
Well, it turns out that it works by creating ionized water, which manages to massage the dirt, grime and stuff out of your clothes. I was really amazed at how well it worked for general cleaning. I have really sensitive skin and generally have to run my laundry through the rinse cycle twice just to make sure all the soapy residue is rinsed out. Not so with the Robby Wash Ball, as there’s no soap.
It didn’t work as well as I had hoped on removing spots and stains. There was a stain stick included, but I haven’t tested that out. Mainy because I generally forget to pre-treat. Ehh…such is life.
One of the greatest features of this is the fact that you can do up to a year’s worth of laundry with one Robby Ball. It replaces up to 265 lbs of laundry detergent. WOW! Aside from the ecological ramifications of that, think of the space saving feature. Softball sized vs. a small room filled with detergent.
Robby Wash Ball comes from France, but is distributed in the US by Oransi. Retail price is $32.95
I’d totally recommend the Robby Wash Ball to anyone. But pre-treat any spots or stains.
