When I was in middle school, I had this best friend that was a little quirky. Well, it turns out her whole family marched to the beat of their own drummers. Of course, I immediately fell in with them. Are you offbeat and a little wacky? I’m attracted to you like a magnet! Anyway, they had a term for stuff that was found in the couch cushions – jackpot! 15+ years later, that term still cracks me up. I think, in part, because it’s so apropos.
I don’t have the style of furniture that collects jackpot. My car floor mats, though, that’s a different story! I am not sure what it is, but every time I clean my car out, I find all sorts of good stuff under there. Of course, there’s the regular stuff like pennies, straw papers, and dead French fries.
What? You don’t eat in the car?
Anyway. I find all sorts of good stuff under my car mats. On more than one occasion, I have found paper money – twice a $5 and once a $20. Just this week, I lost my cell phone. Any guesses as to where it was? Yep. It had somehow worked its way out of my purse and under the floor mat.
I’m not sure what’s going on in my car. My theory is that I have elves that live in there.
